IP camera has three core components : the lens , image sensor , and compression processing chip. Wherein the image sensor is a part of the core image acquisition and processing .
CMOS and CCD image sensors have two kinds. The difference between the two has been discussed very much everyone , mainly reflected in the sensitivity, cost , noise, power consumption , and several aspects: 1 ) In the case of the same pixel size , CMOS sensor sensitivity is lower than the CCD sensor ; 2) CCD sensor is higher than the cost of the CMOS sensor ; 3 ) the same size of the CCD sensor resolution is usually better than CMOS sensor ; 4 ) , compared with a CCD sensor , CMOS sensor noisier ; 5) CCD sensor in addition to the power management circuit design more difficult , the more so that a high driving voltage much higher than the power level of the CMOS sensor .
In the era of standard definition monitor , either analog camera or SD network camera, the most widely used is the CCD. In the era of high-definition monitor , the situation will change. Cost-sensitive high-definition monitor , CMOS sensor although not as good as the overall image quality CCD, but it is the cost advantage of the CCD is still causing a very big threat.
